As a hotel synonymous with delivering luxury guest experiences, it was important its guests’ laundry requirements were met with the same high standards. However, with an ageing, existing facility, featuring a mixture of equipment from different manufacturers, it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain these appliances and provide a continuous, quality laundry service.
With 250 rooms and 49 suites, The Dorchester was also keen to increase its laundry capacity for the hotel’s laundry needs including guests’ own garments, chefs’ whites and table linen. Looking to overhaul its new facility with new, top of the range appliances, The Dorchester approached Miele Professional partner, Washco to overhaul its laundry.
Carefully reviewing the hotel’s daily laundry requirements and need for high standards at all times, Washco recommended appliances from Miele Professional to provide the quality results you would expect from the hotel’s laundry.
Accessing the hotel’s laundry, situated on the third floor was a challenge. However, using a crane, the installation team was able to hoist the appliances from the road to the third floor and into position to complete the laundry refurbishments in just one day.

Washco trained the hotel’s team of 20 laundry assistants to operate the easy-to-use appliances. It is also providing ongoing support and maintenance for the new Miele washing machines and dryers, removing the pain from laundry staff who previously had to deal with multiple different suppliers and manufacturers if they had any servicing or breakdown issues.
