Phenomenal
What a fantastic piece of kit. After having a Miele W1 washer for nearing 10 years, I have no idea how we didn't go for a dryer sooner. Having fumbled through two awful alternative dryer brands beforehand, we decided to go for this new 125 edition machine. It dries very well indeed. Please don't feel intimidated by the part of the instruction book that shows you how to change the programmable settings (if you want too), because this is where the machine really comes into a league of its own. The factory settings are very good don't get me wrong, but being able to adjust things like the Cottons drying level and cool down temperature really do make a difference. The DryCare40 setting works very well, but do remember that if you're putting a load of thicker clothing material in the drum along with shirts, for example, the thicker items may still be damp at the end. For a truly mixed load, I just put it on a Cottons cycle (Normal dry, not Extra Dry) without any extra settings and it works like a charm ( I personally chose to go into the Programmable Settings menu and change the Cottons drying level to two settings higher, which is number 6 out of 7 possible drying levels. I believe. I think that the factory setting is number 4, which still dries very well). If the laundry is still a bit damp at the end, the Warm Air programme (timer) will sort that out no trouble. You can even choose the DryCare40 (lower temperature) setting for this timed dry cycle, which is great. You'll notice that the machine doesn't just "run" constantly like so many other dryers. The first 5-10 minutes on some cycles, it tends to run slow to assess the moisture level and remaining time (which is when the PerfectDry light is flashing) - before going into the cycle fully. The drying times haven't been too long at all, and remember that once it has assessed the laundry, the initial time will most likely go down anyway once the cycle has started properly. It's super quiet, and the interior light is very bright, so it's not gimmicky at all like many other appliance drum lights, allowing you to see if you really have left anything in the drum. The water tank design is another great feature. It's been designed such that once you've emptied it, it stops any additional drips coming out and "seals" itself in a way, which is very clever. We clean the filters after every use, and the bottom plinth filter is easy to clean as long as you line up the holes properly to get it back in. The app (which of course is not mandatory to use) was super easy to set up and, once it's done, you can see the progress of your laundry even when out of the house and not on Wi-Fi. Without delay, every time, a notification of "Your Laundry is Ready" appears on the phone when it's finished (i.e., when it's in cooling down mode, the machine will bleep and some circulating lines may appear on the display where the time was previously) - opening the door at this point and the laundry is always perfectly dry. You can also start and stop the machine from the app, in addition to seeing energy consumption and a history of the cycles used and how many cycles have been run. Furthermore, after a few minutes into the cycle, it saves energy by turning off the majority of the display, with only the green "Start / Add Laundry" button showing. If you want to get the screen back up, just press this green button once. It will beep, won't stop the cycle, and will just turn the display back on. A fragrance flaçon comes with the machine and adds a nice scented touch to the laundry. Just please follow the instructions for this (if you want to use it of course) as if you don't set it up properly it may leak. All in all, a truly fantastic machine that I could not recommend enough!
