Fault code 2.2.16 / Appliance fault

The Miele app displays the message Appliance fault and the fault code 2.2.16. For Apple devices with iOS 14, an additional message is displayed: Please check that “local network” app permission has been granted in your smartphone settings.

Location services are deactivated for the Miele app on the mobile device.

Activate location services in the settings of the Miele app:

  • iOS:select Settings > Miele. Select Location and select the setting Allow While Using App.

  • Android: select Settings > Apps > Miele: select Permissions > Location and select Allow access only while using the app.

iOS mobile devices: the Miele app does not have permission to access devices and services in the local network.

Open the settings in the iOS mobile device.

Tap Privacy & Security.

Select Local Network.

Set the switch next to the Miele app to green.

The Miele domestic appliance is reporting an internal fault.

Select Try again in the Miele app.

If the fault continues to occur, proceed as follows:

  • Cancel the connection process in the Miele app.

  • Reset the network settings on the Miele domestic appliance to the factory defaults:

    • Select the Miele@home or Networking menu on the Miele domestic appliance.

    • Select the Reset menu.

  • Disconnect the domestic appliance from the power supply.

  • Wait 15 minutes.

  • Add the Miele domestic appliance again in the Miele app.
