Check brew unit

Check brew unit appears on the coffee machine display.

The brew unit cannot move to the start position or it is soiled and the ground coffee cannot be pressed.

Confirm the fault message with OK.

Check whether you can remove the brew unit.

If you can remove the brew unit, proceed as follows:

  • Clean the brew unit under running water without using cleaning agents.

  • CVA 2xxx to CVA 6xxx:

  • Pushing into start position | Coffee ejector | CVA xxxx coffee machine
  • CVA 7xxx and CM xxxx:

  • Pushing into start position | Coffee ejector | CM xxxx and CVA 7xxx coffee machine
  • Push the coffee ejector of the brew unit into the start position.

  • Insert the grounds container and the water container only.

  • Do not insert the brew unit.

  • Close the appliance door.

  • Switch the coffee machine on with the On/Off  control.

This will initialise the brew unit drive and put it back into the start position.

The message Insert brew unit is displayed.

  • Open the appliance door.

  • Now reinsert the brew unit into the coffee machine.

  • Close the appliance door.

If you cannot remove the brew unit, proceed as follows:

  • Confirm the fault message with OK.

  • Switch the coffee machine off with the On/Off  control.

  • Wait approx. 2 minutes.

  • Switch the coffee machine on again.

If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.

The degree of grinding is too coarse or the quantity of coffee is too high.

Some types of coffee have a much higher grinding volume.

Confirm the fault message with OK.

Remove the brew unit.

Clean the brew unit under running water without using cleaning agents.

Slide the brew unit back into the coffee machine.

Select a finer degree of grinding for the coffee.

Reduce the quantity of coffee.

Alternatively, reset the coffee machine to the Factory default settings.

If you reset the coffee machine, you will lose all your personal settings.

If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.
