The detergent compartment was still damp when detergent was added.
Only add the detergent when the detergent compartment is dry.

Detergent residue in the detergent compartment
Detergent residue is left in the dishwasher’s detergent compartment at the end of a programme. The detergent has not fully dissolved.
The middle spray arm is clogged.
Switch the dishwasher off.
Remove the spray arm as follows:
Push the middle spray arm upwards to engage the ratchet. Then unscrew the spray arm .
Use a pointed object to push food particles into the spray arm nozzles.
Rinse the spray arms thoroughly under running water.
Replace the spray arms and check that they rotate freely.
The lower basket has been loaded incorrectly.
There are large objects (such as pizza dishes) in the lower basket in front of the dosage unit obstructing the water jets or the lid of the dosage unit.
Load the front area of the lower basket with small plates so that the dosage unit lid can open and the water jets are not obstructed.
The detergent has not fully dissolved.
Dishwasher tabs purchased from suppliers other than Miele may take longer to dissolve than Miele UltraTabs.
Furthermore, tabs may not dissolve completely when the QuickPowerWash programme (if available) is used.
Use Miele UltraTabs; they have been designed specifically for Miele dishwashers.
For thorough and gentle cleaning of glasses, crockery and cutlery, we recommend Miele products which also care for your dishwasher at the same time.
