Drain indicator light is flashing

The Drain indicator light on the dishwasher is flashing and the programme is interrupted. Water is present in the wash cabinet. A fault occurred while the water was being drained.

The filter combination in the wash cabinet is soiled.

Clean the filter combination as follows:

  • Switch the dishwasher off.

  • Turn the handle backwards to release the filter combination (1).

  • Remove the filter combination (2).

  • Remove any coarse soiling.

  • Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water.

  • Use a soft cleaning brush to remove soiling.

  • Ensure that coarse particles do not get into the circulation system and cause a blockage there.

  • To clean the insides of the filter, the flap must be opened:

    • Press the recessed grips together in the direction of the arrows (1).

    • Open the filter flap (2).

  • Rinse all the parts under running water.

  • Then close the flap so that the catch engages.

  • Refit the filter combination so that it lies flat in the base of the wash cabinet.

  • Then turn the handle forwards until both arrows point towards each other. This will lock the filter combination in place.

When you are fitting the filter combination, take care that it is secured in position correctly.

Otherwise, coarse soiling could get into the circulation system and cause a blockage there.

A foreign object (such as a cherry stone or a small shard of glass) could be blocking the drain pump and the non-return valve.

Clean the drain pump and the non-return valve as follows:

  • Switch the dishwasher off.

  • Disconnect the mains plug.

  • Remove the filter combination from the wash cabinet (see above).

  • Scoop the water out of the wash cabinet using a small container.

  • Press the catch for the non-return valve inwards (1).

  • Pull the non-return valve up and out (2).

  • Rinse the non-return valve well under running water.

  • Remove all foreign objects from the non-return valve.

  • The drain pump is situated under the non-return valve (see arrow).

  • Risk of injury from glass splinters.

It is especially difficult to see glass splinters in the drain pump.

  • Remove any foreign objects from the drain pump. Check the drain pump impeller by manually turning it. You will feel a little resistance when you turn the impeller.

  • Carefully replace the non-return valve.

Ensure that the catch engages correctly.

Damage due to incorrect cleaning.

The drain hose is kinked.

Remove any kinks or loops from the drain hose.
