“Steam generator too hot” indicator lights up

The “Steam generator too hot” indicator lights up constantly on the steam ironing system.

A safety mechanism has tripped to protect the steam ironing system against heat damage.

Allow the steam ironing system to cool down. It may take a few hours to cool down completely.

Once the  indicator light (steam generator too hot) goes out, the steam ironing system becomes ready for operation again.

If the  indicator light (steam generator too hot) keeps lighting up again at short intervals, please contact the Miele Customer Service Department.

Rinsing or descaling was interrupted.

Allow the steam ironing system to cool down. It may take a few hours to cool down completely.

In future, avoid interrupting the rinsing or descaling process.

The rinsing process takes several minutes.

The indicator light on the iron remains off while the steam ironing system is performing the rinsing process. All other functions are deactivated.

Inside, the water is drained into the residual water drawer. During the process, some steam may escape and it may be possible to hear burbling noises.

The steam ironing system is ready for use again once the automatic rinsing process is completed.

The  indicator light (Descale) lights up yellow while the descaling process is running.
